Planner II

POSITION SUMMARY

The Demand Planner II role is responsible for refining and executing demand forecasting strategies. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of market dynamics, proven analytical expertise, and strategic foresight to optimize inventory management and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  2. Lead the development and execution of advanced demand forecasting models, incorporating statistical analysis, market trends, and customer behavior to provide accurate and actionable insights.
  3. Collaborate closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to gather relevant data and align demand forecasts with strategic business objectives.
  4. Evaluate and enhance forecasting methodologies, leveraging advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
  5. Analyze historical sales data and market trends to identify patterns, outliers, and potential demand influencers, providing valuable input to decision-making processes.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, actively engaging in discussions about production capabilities, lead times, and potential challenges to align demand forecasts with supply chain capabilities.
  7. Oversee the implementation of demand planning tools and systems, ensuring their optimal use and functionality to streamline forecasting processes.
  8. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain efficiency, providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
  9. Lead cross-functional meetings, providing expertise on demand planning, addressing challenges, and contributing to strategic discussions to optimize supply chain operations.
  10. Mentor and support junior demand planners, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
  11. Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignment.
  12. Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Work with Material control to optimize work in progress (WIP).
  2. Work cross functionally to create efficiency reporting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in supply chain, business, finance or engineering, or another related field is preferred. 

Experience: Previous experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing, or another related field, preferably with a focus on electro-mechanical components is preferred.

Required Skills

  • Experience with continuous production work cells and project oriented job shop environments.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, Kanban, pull systems, supply chain management, inventory management, and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience in demand planning, with a track record of successful leadership in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools, forecasting software, and ERP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at various organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and statistical modeling.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives and implement innovative solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Experience with SQL based ERP systems.
