Quality Assurance Specialist (M-Th 6am-5pm)

Position Description
The Quality Assurance Specialist (QA) will assist the Quality and/or Manufacturing Manager(s) with daily quality checks of raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG) prior to next movements in and on the shop floor environment. The QC Specialist will also focus on continuous improvement of the quality program for all Continuous Manufacturing, R&D and Project based automated logistics solutions for material handling. Excellent communications and coordination with supporting departments is required to assure that the company’s overall quality goals are achieved. Position includes all other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Provide direction and lead the development and implementation of quality checks and systems that meet company and customer requirements as assigned. Conduct quality inspections and assessment of all assemblies, including in-process quality testing and documentation.
Interact with management and other personnel to coordinate the activities of Quality Assurance within the company. Perform investigations, prepare investigation reports, review, and communicate as designated.
Create, revise, and approve Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures for quality in all processes as assigned. Review and approve quality checks and specifications to ensure compliance with Company requirements.
Create quality system documents; Return Material Authorization (RMA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Quality Check Processes (Non-conformance reports, Deviations), Corrective Action Reports (CAR) and Preventive Actions as required.
Maintain quality system reports, prepare quarterly reports on progress of the Quality Assurance Program including developed practices, CAR and RCA, leading the company towards continued improvements and possible ISO certification.
Conduct investigations to closure on supplier non-conformances. Interact with suppliers on quality issues and specifications.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance within company procedures and cGMPs (contract good manufacturing practices)
Support development of continuous quality improvement programs.
Track and Trend quality data and report to management. (via MS Office, Excel, Smartsheet or other assigned)
Work with a continuous improvement mindset to improve product quality and quality data collection methods. This includes additional training and/or education in quality related methods, data collection, and practices.
Participation in manufacturing feedback to improve quality of product and processes.
Active participation and leadership in the continued development of an effective quality program to maximize company production efficiencies, reduce defects and rework and minimize CASI liability and risk.
Position Requirements
Minimum two-year degree or 3+ years of applicable Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read engineered drawings, prints, diagrams and schematics. Ability to accurately use measuring tools.
Ability to effectively use SPC Data Analysis, MRP/ERP, and proficient use of MS Office Suite.
Ability to conduct data analysis and effectively report and implement corrective actions for abnormalities.
Ability to effectively collect, communicate and act on data in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Quick learner, ability to pick up and create procedures and processes quickly.
Direct experience in manufacturing quality operations, workflow optimization, RMA, and corrective action processes.
Experience in developing and working with mfg. standards, including document and revision control.
Quality Assurance and ISO program experience a plus or evidence of increasing responsibility in a Quality/Manufacturing role.
