The CASI Community Grants program is focused on education, social services and issues involving women and children with an emphasis on underrepresented populations.
The lasting impact of hurt for those harmed by domestic and sexual violence is impossible to measure. That’s why, where those impacted are ready, Denton County Friends of the Family sets out to start that journey.
A comprehensive provider of compassion-focused services for those victims, Denton County Friends of the Family also partners with community members to promote safety, hope, healing, justice and prevention. The operation endeavors to offer programs meeting health, welfare and other needs for those impacted individuals.
CASI Community Grants funding supports one of those programs, the Workforce Readiness & Survivor Technology Access Initiative. With more than 40 participants taking part, the effort gives victims access to safety technology and workforce readiness kids, featuring interview clothing, resume support materials transportation assistance.
In addition, staff offer coaching and practical tools for those pursuing new jobs, education and career advancement. The funding from CASI helped provide the purchase of 20 Chromebooks for those individuals taking part in the program. Click here to learn more about Denton County Friends of the Family.
