The CASI Community Grants program is focused on education, social services and issues involving women and children with an emphasis on underrepresented populations. Applications for the 2025 CASI Community Grant Program are open until May 30, 2025. Encourage nonprofit organizations to apply here.
CASA of Denton County’s impactful mission is to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. The court appointed special volunteers from the community and employees consistently support the organization. The individuals are responsible for the child’s safety, permanency and well-being while in foster care.
“When a child is removed from their home, either because of abuse or neglect, the CASA steps in and the CASA is advocating for the best interest of that child,” said Kay Schroader, the previous President of the group. “It’s being that constant source there, and sometimes it’s the only consistent source there while the child is working through the system,” said Schroader.
Donations to the non-profit organization are detrimental to the continuation of the program and services that they offer. Each year, $2000 is allocated towards each child in the program. The funding from CASI’s Community Grant is allocated towards supporting the direct needs of the children and families through necessary back-to-school items, swimming lessons in the summer, birthday gifts and more.
