Founded in 1984, The Samaritan Inn is a non-profit comprehensive housing program in North Texas that supports individuals in realizing dignity and gaining independence. The organization serves single men, single women, and families. Every day, the group has around 170 residents that call the Inn home, with 33 percent of those residents being children.
“What makes us unique as a comprehensive homeless shelter is that we have four pillars,” said Chief Development Officer Kelly Maynard. “Our four pillars are career development, financial literacy, case management and counseling,” Maynard noted.
Through community grant funding, the organization has been able to provide better lives for hundreds of individuals and get them back on their feet. The funding from CASI’s Community Grant will support the Inn’s career development and the empowerment of families, young women and young mothers.
